Herb Infused Salves

Salves are a great way to help nourish and support the skin.  There are lots of fun ways you can mix up your herbal infusions.  I really enjoy picking things that are in season and growing wild around my property.  The salves I make are usually a combination of 'in-season' herbs and essential oils.
I enjoy doing a fresh infusion in my crock pot.  I am able to capture all the properties in the plant while infusing at just the right temperature for longer periods of time to get the most out of my herbs.

Comfrey, Plantain, Arnica, and various other plants tend to flourish in the spring and early summer.  This is a great time to mix up some of those herbs into an infusion.

Wild rose, yarrow, mullein, and several other herbs flourish in the mid to late summer.  These are also wonderfull for the skin!  You can also cultivate some wonderful herbs such as calendula, which tend to bloom more mid summer, depending on when they were planted.
